Training, research, and capacity building

The key activities of the programme are:

  • Primary Trauma Care training for health care workers of all levels
  • Orthopaedic surgical training courses
  • Clinical fellowships in paediatric orthopaedics
  • Epidemiological research into trauma and musculoskeletal impairment treatment needs in East, Central and Southern Africa and develop an evidence base to support improved service provision
  • Capacity building for trauma and orthopaedics training in the region
